Privacy policy
Last updated: [Date of publication]
This Privacy Policy describes how Institute of Human Anatomy, LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you use Ask IOHA (the “Service”). It covers Ask IOHA only. Our main website, courses and store are covered by the Institute of Human Anatomy privacy policy.
Information we collect
- Early-access sign-ups. If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, the date, your browser type, and the country your connection comes from. Collected directly from you.
- Questions you ask. We store the text of each search, the date, how many results it found, and the country it came from. We use this to improve answers and see which topics people need. Searches are not linked to your name or email.
- Device information. Our hosting provider automatically processes your IP address, browser version and the pages you request in order to deliver the Service and protect it from abuse.
- Subscriber information [to complete when subscriptions launch]: your email address, subscription status and billing history. Payment details are handled by our payment provider and never reach our servers.
Health questions
Questions about the body can be personal. Please don’t include your name, contact details or other information that identifies you in a question. Ask IOHA explains anatomy for education. It does not diagnose or treat, and we don’t use your questions to make decisions about you.
How we use your information
- Provide the Service: show results, write answers, and remember sign-ups
- Send early-access updates and, if you subscribe, messages about your account
- Understand which topics are asked about and improve the Service and our educational content
- Keep the Service secure and prevent misuse
- Comply with legal obligations
Sharing your information
We share information only with trusted service providers that help us run Ask IOHA:
- Cloudflare: hosting, security, and the database where sign-ups and searches are stored.
- Anthropic (Claude): writes answers for subscribers. The question and the relevant IOHA video transcript excerpts are sent to Anthropic to generate the answer.
- YouTube (Google): video thumbnails and the embedded player. Loading them shares your IP address with Google, and playing an embedded video may set YouTube cookies under Google’s privacy policy. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed.
- [Payment provider: when subscriptions launch.]
- [Email provider, e.g. Klaviyo: when we start sending emails.]
We do not sell your personal information. We will also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Cookies and tracking
Unlike our main website, Ask IOHA does not use advertising or analytics cookies, tracking pixels, or retargeting. We set one cookie, only for IOHA staff who sign in to the admin area. Embedded YouTube videos may set cookies when played (see above). You can control cookies through your browser settings. [Update this section if analytics or subscriber sign-in are added.]
If you join the waitlist, we use your email address to tell you about Ask IOHA early access and launch. Where required by applicable law, marketing emails are sent only with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us at info@instituteofhumananatomy.com.
How long we keep it
Waitlist emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Search questions: [retention period, e.g. 24 months]. Subscriber records: as long as the account is open and as required for tax and accounting.
